Grandmaster Lao Sui

The late Grandmaster Lao Sui was the first Chu Gar Master in Hong Kong. Among his disciples,  was Master Yip Sui who after learning the style changed the pronunciation of Chu to Chow. A dispute arose at the time over the proper dialectic pronunciation which resulted in Lao Sui's grave and gravestone being removed, changed and relocated.  www.chugarmantis.com

Because of this difference in pronunciation, Chow Gar is often thought to be a branch of Southern Praying Mantis. In reality, the late Grandmaster Yip Sui only taught
Chu Gar.  Refer to Volume Five of the China Mantis Survey for in-depth details.  Also click here!   And here!   And here (video)!
