The Late Grandmaster Yip Sui

The late Grandmaster Yip Sui taught a variation of Chu Gar Praying Mantis.  After the death of his teacher, Lao Sui, a dispute arose
over the proper pronunciation of the word "Chu" at which time Yip Sui began to call his teaching "Chow Gar". This gave rise to the
misconception that Chow Gar was a separate branch, different than Chu Gar.  In reality, Yip Sui's teaching was excellent Chu Gar.

*Circa 1990, Master Yip went to his chest of drawers and took out this photo and some other materials
on our first meeting, in which, he asked me to pass over to his chief disciple, Choy Gam Man, in
San Francisco.  Subsequent exchanges followed.   RDH
